RendezVerse lets hotels build ‘digital twins’ in the metaverse

Teaming up with Marriott and Atlantis, RendezVerse is replicating real-life hotels in the metaverse to host virtual conferences and events. Rose Dykins reports

RendezVerse is a “first-of-its-kind” metaverse platform that enables hotels and event planners to create digital replicas of properties in the metaverse.

Using Web3 technology – decentralized, blockchain-based tech – RendezVerse has created a “metaverse-as-a-service” model for the travel and hospitality industry developed by teams from leading names in the corporate meetings, incentives, conferences and events (MICE) industry, Worldwide Events and m & i.

RendezVerse envisions a future where entire conferences and events are held in the metaverse, or consumers book their next hotel stay, or check out a potential wedding venue.

The aim is to build a community in the metaverse for the hotel and events industry, and bring together MICE buyers, venues, service providers and specialists inside the “digital twins” of some of the world’s most iconic venues and hotels.

RendezVerse Intercontinental Paris Le GrandThe platform will enable site visits and eventually events fully powered by 360-degree VR technology, where users’ virtual avatars can interact in photo-realistic environments.

This has huge potential for reducing the environmental impact of corporate events, offering a greener, cost-effective and time-saving alternative to certain business events and international travel for pre-event preparation.

On a consumer-facing level, Rendezverse also seeks to eventually transform the way that hotels are marketed to individual customers, and make it possible for them to be booked through the metaverse. RendezVerse Leading hotel brands are working with RendezVerse to host their events in the metaverse, including Marriott, Atlantis, Hilton and Four Seasons.

The company has already collaborated with Marriott and Atlantis to build their “digital twins” in the metaverse, and these can be visited via VR headsets, where users can explore 360-degree content that faithfully replicates some of the brands’ real-life hotels – including Intercontinental Paris le Grand, Atlantis The Palm Dubai and Madrid Marriott Auditorium.

Making its debut in the travel trade sector for event planners, by the end of 2023 RendezVerse will have played host to more than 1,000 hotels and several thousand buyers across both the leisure and MICE industries.
