Long’s Shoes in Stow closing, citing supply chain issues as the cause

Long’s Shoes is permanently closing its doors by the end of August after 53 years of business in Stow.

After closing temporarily during the pandemic, owner Amy Logsdon said the impact of supply chain issues is too large to stay in business.

In a Facebook post on Aug. 6, the business announced “it is with a heavy heart that we must close the doors of Long’s Shoes. We have enjoyed serving you these past 53 years.”

Logsdon said she is concerned for other small businesses in the area as well.

“We’ve had a list of 300 people on a list waiting for shoes for two years,” she said. “Those three months of closure during COVID were just drops in the bucket.”
