POSITION YOU ARE RUNNING FOR: Public school trustee — Cambridge

PREVIOUS POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: I don’t have political experience and I’m not looking for a career in politics. Focusing on our youth and using my skills to provide our children with the best education they deserve, to help them succeed in their future, is what motivates me. Boards and classrooms should not be driven by partisan politics.

WHY HAVE YOU DECIDED TO RUN?

I’m running for public school trustee because I believe all students, equally, deserve the best education that we can provide. We need to rebuild a healthy and transparent education system in which parents feel respected and included. I’m dedicated to representing the students’ interests, promoting educational outcomes that benefit them.

HOW WILL YOU EMBRACE AND CHAMPION DIVERSITY IN THIS ROLE?

With consideration for all youth, they will be well-prepared for the future by supporting a curriculum that enhances student learning and provides real-life skills in financial management and trades. Promoting an environment of equality, and diverse of opinion, welcoming to all, I will champion strong education for the benefit of students.

WHAT ARE YOUR TOP THREE ISSUES?

Transparency, enhancing school safety and a good education. Our children are our future. A good education is essential, contributing to personal success and mental well-being. Trades offer students well-paying, meaningful careers and I will support, and promote opportunities that bring back skilled trade classes for middle school students.

IF ELECTED, WHAT DO YOU PLAN TO ACCOMPLISH IN YOUR FIRST 100 DAYS?

We will begin a new chapter with the start of a new board, one that places a focus on our youth and their education. To achieve this, I will have an open-door policy and advocate for town hall discussions, promoting open communication, transparency and including parents in the discussions.
