AT&T Foundation supports Georgia eCampus learning

ATLANTA – The AT&T Foundation is supporting the eCampus online platform with a donation to the Technical College System of Georgia.

Release:

The AT&T Foundation announced a $ 25,000 donation to the Technical College System of Georgia Foundation to support student learning through the system’s eCampus online platform.

Since the launch of eCampus in 2020, enrollment in online course offerings has grown across the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and that means exploring ways to provide more academic support for students. The funding provided by the AT&T Foundation will be used to hire subject matter experts in upper level mathematics and economics to provide virtual tutoring for students interested in these support services.

“We are extremely grateful for the funding provided by the AT&T Foundation to support TCSG students who are taking classes online all across Georgia,” said TCSG Commissioner Greg Dozier. “This donation will enhance our ability to provide support for more students virtually with a focus on increasing student achievement.”

To maximize student success in the online environment, any student enrolled in a participating pilot eCampus math or economics course will have access to the online tutoring resources. Students will be able to schedule online appointments and / or attend virtual open office hours with tutors. In addition, the tutors will be available to assist students at pre-arranged times every week throughout the semester, with additional hours planned prior to midterms and final exams.

“AT&T is proud to support the Technical College System of Georgia’s eCampus platform to help improve outcomes for students through innovative opportunities that help meet the needs of students across the state,” said Gary Sanchez, regional director, AT&T Georgia. “Through the eCampus platform, we are helping connect students to future opportunities, and giving them the tools and resources needed to achieve their academic goals.”

AT&T continues to be a valued corporate citizen in Georgia and a leader in bringing online connectivity to communities across the state. In addition, the telecommunications company is addressing the digital divide through increasing internet access and education tools to students who face connectivity barriers vital to their long-term success. The new TCSG online tutoring services being made available by AT&T is an excellent example of how the company is using its core technology business to improve the lives of people in the communities it serves.

The online tutoring services will be available starting the fall 2022 semester.
