This summer, Chrysler announced the introduction of the 2023 Chrysler 300C Limited Edition, a final last-year hurrah for the iconic rear-wheel drive sedan. While it didn’t take long to quickly sell out, the Chrysler 300 continues to show just how important the 300 nameplate is for the American blue-collar luxury brand.
But this past week, an important yet forgotten piece of the 300’s legacy showed up unexpectedly for sale in the classifieds on Hemmings.com.
Based on the first-generation LH platform, this 1993 Chrysler 300 Concept was a precursor for what would become the Chrysler LHS in 1994. Produced by American Specialty Cars (ASC) of Warren, Michigan, clearly showcases a lot of the production Chrysler LHS styling , but with a full custom glass roof, a different front-end treatment with a different grille, and a round headlight design.
Inside, the car also showcases an interior that would mirror the 1994 LHS. The main difference was that the Bronze and Black leather interior seat backs featured a 1990s take on the iconic 300 logo. Things like the instrument panel, steering wheel, and even AM/FM Cassette player would carry over to the 1994 Chrysler LHS production car.
Like the LHS, the 300 Concept was powered by the 3.5-liter “EGE” 24-valve V6, which was brand new at the time. The V6 delivered 214 horsepower and 221 lb.-ft. of torque, using an iron block with aluminum cylinder heads. It was mated to a 4-speed 43LE automatic transmission, which debuted on the 1993 LH-platform cars (Dodge Intrepid, Chrysler Concorde, and Eagle Vision).
According to the ad, the car has been meticulously maintained and properly stored. It also says that the car runs and drives great.
We guarantee there will be at least one Chrysler collector looking to snag this unique one-off concept vehicle. The car is currently listed on Hemmings.com for $35,000. That seems like a steal compared to some of the collector cars out there.
The car is listed for sale by Pro Market Connections of Minot, North Dakota. You can visit either the Hemmings ad or the listing on the Pro Market Connections site directly.
